The PDF Format
PDF is short for Portable Document Format. Its intent was to be the most widely used document format on the web, and it almost is. Think of it as a super e-book, one has absolute control over how it looks, feels, and reads. It can handle pictures, links, forms, and any form of text known to man. It's also the same format that most publishers use to get it to the presses.
As such, the PDF format was a perfect pick for TC2. Virtually every computer in existence already has a PDF reader, made by adobe. All the portable devices out there have similar software. However, adobe's reader is very large and bulky. A large document takes a long time to load, which is why we recommend FoxIt Reader. It's fast, portable, and easy to use.
We will be using the Scribus software to publish and design TC2, and we're excited to be able to work with such phenomenal software. More than anything, we love it for its free-ness, completeness, and ease of use.
